UNP and Opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe‘s 62nd birthday falls on the 24th of March 2010.

A number of pinkama ceremonies are to be held across the whole Island to mark the occasion. Religious activities at temples as well as voluntary social work have also been organized.

Blood donation campaign, voluntary health services, Bodhi poojas and distribution of meals have also been arranged Island wide to invoke blessings on the Leader.

These campaigns and activities will be ceremonially launched at the UNP Headquarters, Sri Kotha at PitaKotte in the morning of the 24th. These arrangements have been made on the instructions of the UNP leader’s private secretary Sudath Chandrasekera
