According to information it is informed that Kumaran Pathmanathan who was arrested by the government, is not under the control of military but he is in the custody of Criminal Investigation unit. While Gottabaya gave an interview to a local English media, he made this statement.

The OIC and seven others at the Mattakkuliya Police post have been transferred out of the area pending an inquiry against them over Saturday night's incident there, a senior police officer said.
Journalist Susil Kindelpitiya was granted bail by the Colombo High Court today after the lady who lodged a complainant against him said her statement given by the Court by the police was incorrect.
